Opgemerkt moet worden dat de driver van de LED lamp een vaste stroom levert, terwijl de transformator een vaste spanning levert. Bovendien zijn deze unieke LED-drivers allemaal dimbaar. Eén zo'n model LED-driver kan worden gedimd met een 0-10 volt signaal, een pulsbreedtesignaal of een instelbare weerstand. Weer andere typen LED-drivers kunnen eenvoudig worden aangestuurd met een 230 V dimmer. Bovendien kunnen alle verschillende typen LED-drivers op verschillende spanningen worden ingesteld, omdat er altijd een precieze stroom beschikbaar is voor de LED-armaturen met een ingebouwde LED.
